“Speed matter: Why working quickly is more important than it seems”, a lovely blog post from James Somers. He describes how doing things fast, but not sloppy, improves your efficiency in the long run. Conversely doing things slow will make you want to do less of them, which leads you to do them even slower. There’s something true about that, it holds for fixing bugs, writing, but also for clean your bathroom. “The general rule seems to be: systems which eat items quickly are fed more items. Slow systems starve.”
